Voki Tip of the Week: Voki Classroom: Using the My Account Tab

If you are Voki Classroom user, you are probably accustomed to the My Account tab. Let’s take a look a good look at the My Account tab and see what you can do! To get to the My Account tab, just follow these steps:

  1. Go to www.voki.com.
  2. Click on the Voki Classroom tab and log in to your account.
  3. Click on the My Account tab.

Personal Information

Your personal information is visible in the Student view and the Assignment Page. Under this section, you can change your salutation and your first and last name. You can even upload your own picture! The picture can be a picture of you or any pictures that represents your class. It can also be left blank.

To change your personal information, click Edit, input your new information, and remember to click Save.

Personal Settings

Under personal settings, you can edit your email address and your password. The email address displayed under this section is the email address you use to log into your Voki and Voki Classroom account. Be sure to use a valid email address so that you can receive your account information! The password you chose will be used to into your Voki and Voki Classroom account.

To change your email and your password, click Edit, input your new email/password, and remember to click Save. You will receive a notification informing you that your email address has been updated.

Note: Do not give your password away to your students. Each student has his/her own login ID and password for Voki Classroom. VCA3

Account Settings

Account setting is where you can find information about your Voki Classroom account. Here, you can find out when your account expires, what kind of payment method you have on file, enable or disable automatic billing, how many student accounts and classes you have, your account ID,  how long you’ve been a valued Voki Classroom user and past invoices.

If your Voki Classroom account is expiring, you can click on Extend. Then select the subscription you want and proceed with checkout. If you have a payment method on file, you can enable to disable automatic billing. By checking the automatic billing box, the payment method you have on file will automatically be charged when your Voki Classroom account is about to expire. Your Voki Classroom account will be extended by the same time period you selected at sign up.

Some Voki Classroom users have more than 100 students or more than 5 classes. To add more student accounts or classes, simply click Add More next to the student or class limit you wish to increase. You
will then need to select the number of student accounts or class you wish to purchase.

We know that some of our Voki teachers use Popplet in their class! What if you want to have your Voki character there? We have the solution here!

Direct Link

  1. Go to www.voki.com.
  2. Create and publish your Voki.
  3. Select your Voki size and copy your Voki link.1
  4. Go to www.popplet.com and sign in.2
  5. Click to Make new popplet and double click to create a popple.3
  6. Paste your Voki link into the popple.4
  7. Hover your mouse over the Voki link and click on Go to link.5

Now you go to your Voki from Popplet!

Voki Video

  1. To save your Voki as a video file, check out this Tip of the week.
  2. Upload it on YouTube.
  3. 6Go to www.popplet.com and sign in.2
  4. Click to Make new popplet and double click to create a popple.3
  5. Click on the upload icon.
  6. Click on the YouTube icon.7
  7. Search for your video.8
  8. Select your video and click Add to popple.9

Now you can view your Voki directly on Popplet!

It’s difficult to scroll through a list of 100 students! But instead of going through the LONG list, why not just search for their name?

First, click on your Students tab and type in your student’s name. Then hit enter or the green arrow button.

Now you can see if your student finished their assignment!

Voki Tip of the Week: Voki Classroom Student Password

Student passwords are automatically-generated in Voki Classroom whenever you create a Student account. But did you know that you can change your student’s password?  Your students can even choose their own passwords!

  1. To change your student’s password, find the account that you want to modify.
  2. Change the password here.
  3. Hit the Save button!password2

If you want your student to pick their own password, all you need to do is download the Voki Classroom list template and enter their passwords into the last password column! Download the template here.

Then just upload your list to your Voki Classroom account and your students can log into their Student account with their own password!

Voki Tip of the Week: Auto-play Voki

Recently we’ve had some Voki users asked us if their Voki can automatically play when you view them. The answer is yes! Here’s how:

Look in the top right-hand corner of the Voki editor and click on the small icon that looks like 3 gears. It is located on top of the Customize Your Character box.

It will bring up Scene Setting. To have your Voki play automatically, click the check box for Play audio automatically when Voki loads.

Now, when you open your Voki, it will play automatically!

Merry Christmas in Chinese? Happy Holiday in Spanish? Happy New Year in French? You will be surprised at how many different ways you can say it! Here’s a fun holiday activity that you can do in your classroom. Assign your students different languages and ask them to research how to say holiday greetings in their assigned language! It would be a great cultural lesson!
